GIVING BACK
Hard workers
It takes a village of volunteers to make a state convention
happen. Such is the case with the North Carolina Association
of Senior Citizen Clubs (NCASCC) Conference, which will
be held Nov. 1, 2 and 3 at the Holiday Inn at I-95 on
Cedar Creek Road. Two of the top leaders in the effort
are volunteers Lois Whitmeyer, right, and Mae Foy. Whitmeyer
is president of District 2 Seniors, and Foy is treasurer
for the group. Photographer Rachael Santillan was able
to get the two to step away for a few moments from preparing
goody bags for the upcoming convention. For more information
about the convention, call Mary Brymer at the Fayetteville
Senior Center, (910) 433-1574.
