FUN STUFF

I always look forward to NEXT! because I know it’s going to be fun and tell me what’s going on the community. I’ve used fitness tips from John Velandra’s Personal Best column. I also enjoy Senior Moment — I would read Jim Pettit’s columns if he was writing about digging a ditch; he’s that good. And Melissa Clement is the most interesting person in the world. She’s so cool! She’s willing to do anything, just for the experience of it all.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Dear Melissa Clement,

You are something! The photos of you in the July cover story were just wonderful! (“Naked Truths,” on Whispering Pines Nudist Resort). Maybe shedding clothes makes everyone look younger — or do you just act younger? Anyway, I just had to tell you it was a great article and a good look at what goes on in one of those places. (I have often wondered.) What’s next?

— Judy Shackleford, Fayetteville ART FOR ALL

Thank you so much for covering the artist reception for Robert Irwin (“Footprints in the Sand,” July NEXT!). It was a super opening. I wish more people were comfortable visiting the gallery. Art exists for all of us and can enrich our lives. Best wishes always.

— Judy Broadhurst, owner of Broadhurst Gallery, Pinehurst
